Cassandra Burgess
Live Artist
People ask me, “Why do art?” Well, that is almost like asking, why I exist. Art is a part of me, if I’m not creating then I’m not fully existing. Ideas are always flowing in my mind and it only depends on how I decide to express those ideas and when. My art is constantly changing just as I am. I get inspired and wonder if I can do it. I accept the challenge and then try my best. Sometimes, I have an intentional meaning behind a work while other times the meaning comes during or after the created piece. There is no formula to art. I just do it.
My chalk pastel pieces are on average eight feet tall and four feet wide. I am most comfortable working big because it requires my entire body to be involved. I desire the process or journey of creating the piece more than the finished work. The best moments are when, you are so sore and tired that you fall asleep next to your piece, or you start blending with your feet because your arms are too tired.
Art is intuitive, freeing, inspiring, and sometimes frustrating. It’s how I let myself express myself without fear. I get to love what I do and love others through it. My goal is to inspire and encourage. To dream and push the limits.

Jodi Burgess
Inspirational Speaker
I am a retired military wife of 28 years who has experienced many cultures and traveled to many wonderful places. It is where my passion for connecting to others’ stories began, or was it during that high school history assignment where I had to interview my neighbor about what life was like when he was young? Either way, I was intrigued by the story behind the person I knew. After you hear their story you never look at them the same.
I will always be thankful for my husband’s 30 years of service and that God kept us together through so much uncertainty and change. The fact that we have currently been in one location for over ten years is still surprising. Through rough and exciting roads we are humbly, stronger than ever. Bobby is the love of my life. This interesting journey of life has driven me to preserve mine as well as other’s stories. My goal in teaching and preserving stories is to encourage others to “keep on keeping on” and to “live their best lives”.
Experience: Jodi has consistently taught all ages of children throughout their many moves. She coordinated Vacation Bible Schools in local neighborhoods while living in VA. She has also led numerous prayer groups. As a Religious Education Coordinator at Geilenkircken Germany Nato Air Base, Jodi began teaching and speaking regularly both training other teachers and as a guest speaker for PWOC events and MOPS. She was honored to serve as the Mentor Mom for several years. Her leadership role included ecumenical events such as Vacation Bible School, Sunday School, Holiday Celebrations, and Training Conferences. Through these connections, Jodi was invited to Denmark to team teach for a Lutheran Women’s Conference on The Titus Women and at several PWOC Women’s Retreats. In 2020 Jodi and Cassandra ministered to Airforce wives at Mildenhall AFB, England.
Jodi has been privileged to teach at Bayside Adventure to a small group of 16, 2 hours for 6 weeks on the Tabernacle. She has been honored to speak with the youth group at Living Water Church on several occasions as well as Sunday morning services.
